When a set of George Washington’s dentures turns up in the hands of an unexpected rival, the ladies of the society brace themselves for all-out war. This 2-day workshop will focus on beginning a pastel landscape painting with either a hard pastel plus alcohol wash or a watercolor underpainting. This allows the artist to complete the painting with strokes that achieve a much more looser style to their painting. We will choose subjects from a variety of pictures that I provide. This workshop will focus on the landscape with dramatic skies and how that sky is portrayed in water. This workshop is for beginner or intermediate pastel painters.

More Violin is a show to honor the beauty and significant contribution of the violin in music throughout the last 100 years. Throughout history the violin has been represented in all genres of music. From classical to jazz, blues to country, rock and roll to bluegrass, Cajun, Irish songs, and on and on. Heather and her band will take you on a journey through all these styles by performing iconic violin moments and introducing the audience to iconic violinists. Heather will be joined by the great violinist Scarlet Rivera who was made famous by her work with Bob Dylan. They will perform songs that span the violin repertoire, including some twin fiddle pieces, and of course some Bob Dylan songs. More Violin is a wonderful way to enjoy songs you love and to experience violin performances you may have never heard before. If you love the violin, you'll leave wanting more!

Violinist, composer, and activist Scarlet Rivera has toured extensively with Bob Dylan and performed as a soloist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Carnival of Venice, Italy. She has performed with many renowned artists including Emmylou Harris, Rufus Wainwright, Glen Hansard, Tracy Chapman, and most recently with Brandi Carlile at Disney Hall in 2019. Scarlet continues to be an active recording artist, performer, composer, and activist. 

Heather Hardy, known to many as "Lil' Mama" Hardy, is a celebrated blues violinist, singer, and songwriter. Her musical journey began early and she went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music. Her career took a different path when she began playing on the streets of Greenwich Village, where she discovered a passion for contemporary music and improvisation. In the mid-1980s, Hardy toured across the U.S. and Europe with the punk band The False Prophets. She later moved to Tucson, Arizona, and became a key member of the Sam Taylor Band, where her unique "wah-wah" solos on the violin helped the band win the 1995 Arizona Blues Showdown. In 1997, she formed her own group, the Lil' Mama Band. Her talent has been recognized with induction into both the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Tucson Musicians Museum in 2016.

Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson, became one of Hollywood’s most iconic stars and timeless symbols of glamour, charm, and allure. Her radiant screen presence and unforgettable performances make her one of the most enduringly popular Hollywood icons of the 20th century. This performance will be a celebration of all things Marilyn including her greatest hits “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”, “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” and of course “I Want to be Loved by You” and more! This concert also features major hits capturing Marilyn’s true essence along with a couple of surprises that will take you back to the Hollywood icon Silver Screen Era where Marilyn shined!

Grace Field, a Broadway performer now silver screen actress recently seen performing on NBC's The Today Show with Hugh Jackman, is a proud member of Grammy nominated and Tony Award Winning Broadway Inspirational Voices who has performed across the globe. Recently, she performed on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre in "Disney on Broadway" as part of the Celebration of Disney's 25 years streamed on ABC hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. Also, Field performed in the original cast of the new Alan Menken's Disney's production of Hercules at the Public Theatre. Ms. Field has also performed at venues including The White House, Broadway's New Victory Theatre, The Apollo, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The United Nations, The Barclay Center, New World Stages and Carnegie Hall. Grace just performed at Carnegie Hall in the presentation of The Songs of Dorothy Dandridge the Musical directed by Tamara Tunie. She also recently had the great honor of performing at The White House for the President, Vice President, and distinguished guests (performance featured on PBS). Currently, she is developing and starring in the feature film "Jessie" with Oscar nominated writer and producer Leigh Savidge (Straight Outta Compton). Field also has the honor of performing the role of Marilyn Monroe in a Broadway development entitled "That's Love." 

Dorsten, comprised of siblings Sophie and Alex, is a Folk/Americana band with a dynamic stage presence and out of this world vocals, balanced perfectly with complex and beautiful instrumentation. With a trail of accolades and a growing international fanbase, they continue to craft music that resonates deeply while leaving an indelible mark on the modern music landscape. With influences such as The Lumineers and Florence + The Machine, they have spent years honing their craft while captivating audiences on national tours and music festivals including Summerfest and Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Recently having returned from a 17-city European tour with Tom Walker in Paris, these Arizona based artists have opened for Beth Hart on her tour of Canada, as well as Mark Ambor on his tour throughout the U.S. and Europe. Dorsten will be returning to Europe once again this season for dozens of dates. 

Sophie was a long time staff member at Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock teen center and sang backup vocals on his album “Rock for Children”. In 2023, Dorsten released an Alice Cooper cover “I Can Never Cry” which received rave reviews from Cooper himself. Most recently, Sophie advanced to Hollywood week on this season's American Idol!

A successful solo artist in his own right, Wood writes and records original music for film and television, has released seven solo albums, and tours internationally. But Mark’s true passion is music education. His groundbreaking music education program Electrify Your Symphony (EYS) celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020 and pivoted entirely to support music teachers by providing empowering online experiences during the pandemic. As a singer, songwriter, performer, and vocal coach, Laura has spent the last 20 years empowering young singers with leadership skills through a variety of different programs with her husband and partner, Mark Wood. Laura has worked with legendary musicians such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Sean Lennon and her voice has been featured on countless television shows and advertisements. In addition to her solo work, Laura is the featured vocalist on many of Mark Wood’s recordings. This duo performance is sure to electrify you!

Whether your style is object accurate realism or non-objective abstraction with just the pure elements of design, participate in an open studio with Fran. During each session, Fran will be available for consultations relating to your work. She will discuss how one's media and substrate relate to their subject and/or idea. As a lifelong teacher who has worked in all media, Fran

enjoys facilitating people's artistic journey, whether they are a relatively new painter, developing a work in process, investigating a new media, or want to learn how to develop a theme in a body of work. In this series of sessions, students will work on their specific objective while sharing the creative process with other participants. 

Dubbed "nothing short of masterful" by the Chicago Tribune, award-winning actor Frank Ferrante recreates his PBS, New York and London acclaimed stage portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in this fast paced 90 minutes of hilarity. The two-act comedy consists of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including “Hooray for Captain Spalding,” and “Lydia, the Tattooed Lady.” The audience literally becomes part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style. Accompanied by his onstage pianist, Ferrante portrays the young Groucho of stage and film and reacquaints us with the likes of brothers Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Gummo, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields and Marx foil Margaret Dumont. A show perfect for all ages!

Frank Ferrante is the recipient of New York's Theatre World Award for 'Outstanding Debut,' a New York Outer Critics Circle nomination, London's Laurence Olivier Award nomination for 'Comedy Performance of the Year,' Washington D.C.'s Helen Hayes nomination and two Connecticut Critics Circle Awards. He was picked a 'top ten' theater performance by the Wall Street Journal in 2017 and in 2019 the Chicago Tribune picked him as a 'top ten' stage performance for his role in cirque's Teatro ZinZanni. 

Ferrante was discovered by Groucho Marx's son playwright Arthur Marx as a 22 year old drama student at USC performing An Evening With Groucho for a 1985 senior project. Arthur subsequently cast Frank to portray Groucho Marx for the heralded 1986-87 production of Arthur's Groucho: A Life in Revue that played Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre for 254 performances. Ferrante, who was 23 at the time, portrayed legendary Groucho from age 15 to 85. Morrie Ryskind who co-wrote the Marx Brothers classic films Animal Crackers and A Night at the Opera and attended Ferrante's USC show said, "Frank is the only actor aside from Groucho who delivered my lines as they were intended." 

Ferrante is one of the busiest touring performers in theater today with over 3,000 performances as 'Groucho' internationally in over 500 cities for over 35 years. He is considered a 'new vaudevillian' having performed in the variety world as the comic host 'Caesar' in Teatro ZinZanni since 2001 for over 1,500 performances from San Francisco to Seattle to Amsterdam. He has performed lead roles in many of the country's most prominent regional theaters including Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage, Goodspeed Opera House, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, Boston's Huntington Theatre, New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse and Atlanta's Alliance. Onstage, he has co-starred with Tony Award winners Faith Prince (Guys & Dolls), Liliane Montevecchi (Nine) and Kristin Chenoweth who received her Actor's Equity card in a production of Animal Crackers in which Ferrante headlined.

Mostly Kosher brings a unique immersive cultural experience that lays the drawbridge down, invites the listener in to share a few l’chaims and then sends them home with a goodie bag of melodies, memories and the desire to hora through the night. The set includes reconstructed Klezmer and Yiddish music, the cultural expressions of Jewish people crossed with Rock, Latin, Jazz and Folk. In response to the poetry and folk music of Judaic roots, the show includes original repertoire resounding with themes of social justice, human dignity and mutual understanding.

Led by frontman Leeav Sofer, one of Jewish Journal’s “30 under 30” most accomplished professionals in the Los Angeles Jewish diaspora, Mostly Kosher is comprised of some of the highest regarded Los Angeles musicians: violinist Janice Mautner Markham, drummer Eric Hagstrom, bassist Adam Levy, accordionist Gee Rabe, trombonist Taylor Covey and Aníbal Seminario on clarinet and sax. Mostly Kosher is a fixture at renowned Southern California stages such as the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Skirball Cultural Center, Torrance Center for the Arts and Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center. They have also graced the stage of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for a live television broadcast to over half a million viewers. Mostly Kosher has the honor of being the first Jewish music ensemble to perform at Disney’s California Adventure.

Karen Morgan is a former trial attorney who began her comedy career as a finalist on Nickelodeon Television’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America. She has now been performing clean standup comedy nationwide in theaters and performing arts centers for almost two decades. 

Karen has two Dry Bar Comedy Specials: Go Dawgs (with millions of views on Facebook & YouTube) and now Rub Some Dirt On It (Top 10 List of 2023). Her latest comedy album, Shiny Happy People Laughing (named with special permission from REM), was recorded in her home town of Athens, Georgia; it plays on 4 different channels on Sirius XM Radio. She has several television appearances including The Talk on CBS, Gotham Comedy Live, and ads for Wal-Mart and Zyrtec. She has also been featured in The Washington Post, Huff Post and The Insider. 

Karen entertains audiences nationwide with her relatable observations of family and everyday life. Her funny, sentimental stories of growing up in the 1970s & 80s are a particularly big hit with Gen Xers, Gen Jonesers and Baby Boomers. Karen’s “real” humor, clean material and conversational delivery connect quickly with audiences. She has also built a strong community of friends on social media who love to buy tickets to her live shows. 

Karen lives in Cumberland, Maine but loves to travel all over the country for comedy shows, especially if there is a Waffle House along the way.

This class is for beginning to advanced students who are interested in boldly exploring mixed media acrylic techniques and texture on a large format. In this workshop, you will learn to add interest and life to your acrylic work. We'll explore many different acrylic mediums and their potential applications to create exciting, textural, interesting abstract paintings. We will combine acrylic mediums while exploring ways to incorporate elements of form, pattern & strong design. Students may choose to treat these as underpaintings, adding elements of realism to them or allow them to remain abstract. This is a high energy, fun, experimental class
