THE PEÑA COLADAS

Chris Peña heads up a power rock quartet at CPAC for a night of pure, unadulterated musical nostalgia. Featuring a smorgasbord of Top 40 soft rock hits from Doobie Brothers to Hall & Oates! Get ready to belt out every word to all the songs from the yacht rock era!! If it’s the Billy Joel ballads that hit you right in the feels or if it’s The "ooga chagas" that will have you hooked on a feeling there’s something for everyone in the Peña Coladas show! The Peña Coladas are: Chris Peña (vocals and keys), Thøger Lund (bass), Joshua Sailor (drums), and Alekos Dermetzis (guitar).

Born in Tucson, Local artist Peña grew up in a musical family surrounded by cassette tapes full of Jazz, soul & funk. After establishing himself in Phoenix, Peña shared the stage with jazz artist Eric Schneider, Wycliffe Gordon, Bob Mintzer, Donny McCaslin, and Chris Cheek while in the ASU and Scottsdale Community College Big Bands. He has also played with local artists such as Dom Moio, Brice Winston, Dmitri Matheny, and recently Pete Swan. Gigging throughout the Southwest and in Mexico, more locally he has made multiple appearances at the Tucson Jazz Festival, as well as Tour De Fat, Arizona Mardi Gras, Talking Stick's Oktoberfest, Paradise Valley Jazz Party and the Chandler Jazz Festival.
